Song Thrush   –   They visit the garden occasionally, and after watching one trying to crack the shell of a snail in order to eat it, they will be my friends forever. I wish they would attend to that sort of pest control more often.

  1. This is a real cracker fabulous detail hint of light in the eye and excellent contrast against the back drop – well done.

  2. Thank you for taking the time, Scott, some good pointers in your comment that are worth remembering for next time. I wouldn’t even have been able to home in on the details you mention, I just thought the image had a good feel about it (I know, not very scientific), not thinking much of it at the time I took it. As with a lot of my photos, this one was pure chance, – I had gone into the garden for some flower pictures while making use of the early morning light and the clear air following some rain. I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity though, when I found this girl (or boy) sitting on the fence above the flower border.
