Evening Sun   Leave a comment

Another one from my walk on the beach in Burghead, with the evening sun lighting up the dunes.

Freesia I   Leave a comment

Freesia – There is not much to say about this one, really, except I love freesias, and when the light caught this one I had to pick up the camera…playing with such narrow depth of field still needs work, but hey, there wasn’t much time to loose before the light would disappear so for a quick decision result this isn’t too bad I think. I hope.

And Still They Hang On   Leave a comment

Fiesta   –   This young apple tree has had a heavy crop this year and I have had to thin out to protect it. The apples are still hanging on but I wonder if I will be picking them up off the ground after the next couple of days, with the strong winds that are forecast.

Defy The Frost   2 comments

Violas    –   Can’t do without these unassuming but reliable little bloomers in the winter to brighten things up. They have a lovely scent, too, when the weather is pleasant and you can get close. I try to have a planter or two of them every winter, though this time I decided warmer colours are better for the soul on cold days.

What a difference a day makes! The photo was taken yesterday, during a frosty, but sunny morning.  Now the weather is back to its dreary, cold, wet and blowy wintry self. Which, I might add, I welcome with open arms if it has to be a choice between that and the awful conditions people have to put up with in many more southern parts of the UK. Let’s hope there is a reprieve for them soon.
